Welcome to

   The Round Hill Store

A True Community Destination – providing general goods, provisions and deli delights.

You could say, “You’ve come a long way baby,” or “Some things never change,” and both would be an accurate depiction of The Round Hill Store. Today, as yesterday, we serve the Round Hill community with sundries and provisions in addition to our new deli selections. We have added great gift items while still offering everyday convenience goods. You can see antique toys and wares of yesteryear in our historic display cases while ordering a mouth watering sandwich from our friendly kitchen team.

As perhaps the oldest, continuously operated general store in the country, we are not only a place to shop, but a true destination.

Through the centuries of change, the Round Hill Store has retained an intangible charm. Soda crates double as seating on the creaky front porch, where the scent of fresh coffee wafts invitingly from inside. Trains and toys decorate the tables. The antique cash register still functions with a forceful crank of the metal handle, though its usefulness is forgone.”  The Round Hill Store is a true destination.

Community Favorite

“Possibly the oldest business and almost certainly the oldest, continuously run store in Greenwich, the Round Hill Store is overflowing with history. Built in 1801, before the Louisiana Purchase and two years after the death of President George Washington, the Back-Country store has been owned by three different families. Since the early 1900s when Robin’s great grandfather, William Strain bought it, it has been the Strain family business and Back-Country landmark.
